Time Guru – Self Muting Compound Time Metronome

Time Guru Metronome for iPhone/iPad and Android – self-muting, compound time metronome for developing your internal sense of time. Develop your inner sense of time, meter and groove with Time Guru. Developed by rhythm guitarist Avi Bortnick (John Scofield Band), Time Guru is the only metronome with the ability to mute its sound at random, in patterns, or both, so that you can assess whether you tend to rush or drag. Time Guru periodically leaves you on your own so that you strengthen your own internal sense of time, rather than relying on the constant, rigid, external time keeping of a metronome. Sometimes the training wheels should come off! It is the ultimate tool for becoming a rock-steady, time guru.
Time Guru also features:
• various time signatures or combinations of time signatures
• human voice count (English and Chinese!) for time keeping and teaching
• presets
• 18 sound sets
• tap tempo (5 to 300 BPM range)
• super accurate timing through a customized audio engine

Best Click
This is by far the most useful and precise metronome for iPhone. Great user interface as well. 5 stars.
Instant Inspiration
Tight time trumps all, somehow utilitarian and sexy all at once. This app is a great way to get tight and stay tight. Beyond that jamming along with it—say, on an unamplified 335—is just a lot of fun.
Great Subdivision Check
Great way to maintain time during rhythmically easy warm ups and literature too. This may be my saving grace…

Stephen Cooper – February 3, 2013 – Version 2.4
the versatility in proramming meters is fantastic. and the random muting of clicks is a superb way of internalizing the groove. that technique was recommended by victor wooten in his groove workshop dvd, and this metrome automated it! this app is well worth the price..
